We are booked

6 1/2 weeks trip from SFO to CDG, ZHR to SOF, BUD to IST, IST to SFO $905 per person, leaving April 17, returning June 1. Still have to book the TGV from Paris to Zurich and travel from Bulgaria to Romania where we catch a cruise from the Black Sea to Budapest.

Turkish Airlines is the most economical, but not the most efficient. The flight to Paris is 19 hours long because we have a layover in Istanbul, the flight from Zurich to Sofia also has a change in Istanbul, and we are staying 4 days in Istanbul rather than doing a single trajectory from Budapest to SFO which would take 30 hours. But we had promised ourselves a return to Istanbul the last time we were there. More efficient travel would have cost $1000 more per person.
