Way off topic: word on the tip of my tongue...

It's an adverb, I think (starts with "s" maybe? ends in "ly"?) and it is used to refer to how we enjoy the experience someone is having by reading about it.

As in, "happy I can enjoy Paris _ _ _ _ _ through you" - - what IS that word? Driving me crazy! Tried thesaurus.com for "proxy" (only meaning I can think of that is related), but to no avail.

Someone will know here right away. It gets used here often.

Thanks in advance...

Best wishes,

Rex

vicariously?

annettetx Apr 14th, 2004 07:04 AM

well, it doesn't begin with an s, but are you thinking of "vicariously?"

good luck,
Annette

Hi Rex!
Isn't it great to have a peripheral brain? ;;)

Yes, exactly. Thank you. And reverse searching it, I see now that I would have found it, if I had used the thesaurus on "substitute", under concept: "alternative".

Thanks again.

Yes, marcy... though I suggest that this is not a place to ask for verification of drug dosages, huh?

LOL... take care...
