hi rogfam,
when we did this at night a year ago, it was €90 . it might be less in the day. you order it at the information desk straight ahead of you as you exit the customs hall. you then turn left out of the airport building and follow a covered walkway down to the jetties where you wil be met by someone who directs you to your driver, whom you pay. the alilaguna is down there too - it's about €12, so for a family of 4, the water taxi costs twice as much. the buses go from right outside the airport building - the ACTV is about €2,50 the ATVO [has luggage compartments underneath and is direct to Piazzale Roma, not stopping like the ACTV one] €3. the ACTV is covered by the same pass as the vaporetti [which you can buy at the airport too] the ATVO one isn't. good luck regards, ann |
If you type 'water taxi' in the search field, you will see my string on this very subject, it was extremely helpful.

Ann and Bridget thank you so much for your information. Our hotel is the Westin Europa which is on the Grand Canal. Would you know if it has its own dock? Bridget, shame you aren't arriving with us, we could have split a taxi!!!

The Westin Europa has a dock.

Look on the web site and it should say if it has it's own dock. I believe it does but am not positive. If you have more than carry-on luggage I would take the water taxi. But they we alwasy takes taxis from airports into town (I'm allergic to luggage on public transit.)
