Water in Poland?
 

I have traveled extensively through Western Europe and a bit in Eastern Europe as well. I never had a problem drinking tap water in restaurants, hotels, or rental properties. I have heard stories about the water in Poland and am wondering if it is safe to drink. I will be spending a few weeks there this fall.

Municipal water - so tap water in towns and cities has to meet EU standards so is perfectly safe to drink.
Some smaller villages, farms etc still rely on wells so that is perhaps not so great.

Tap water in Poland is perfectly fine. I don't recall drinking much tap water in Poland, it was primarily beer, wine and vodka.

OF course it's safe, it isn't some third world country. I drink it all the time when I'm there.

I've never heard of those stories myself, I've only been in big cities.

Safe - yes. Tasty - no, not at all.

Surely nothing can taste as bad as Orlando tap water? I'm also quite certain that I'd not want to drink the water in Flint, Michigan.

In Poland, good water. That's when we were in Egypt, there was terrible water. The hotel always gave clean bottled water.

I am polish and I would not drink a tap water without boiling it in the kettle first. Some places have better water than a water sold in the shop, but it is best to boil it first since we are never 100% sure.

Years ago...really? This post is 5 months old and she's got a unique perspective coming from the very country being discussed. I'd call that quite helpful.

It may not be helpful for the OP anymore, but it could be helpful for someone else with the same question. This topic will be as relevant after 5 years as it was 5 months ago.

I don't think that a travel forum is only a Q&A service. It's a platform for discussion, exchanging views and reporting experiences, and so on...

IMO, it's much better to use the search function and revive old topics than posting new topics every week of the same subject which had already been discussed ad nauseam.

I disagree. With a few exceptions (and this thread could be one because the OP is not that old but it DOES seem the OP's trip is over and done with). But most of the time, topping old/out of date threads is counterproductive. That 1) brings up threads that may no longer be relevant because of changes/closures/whatever; 2) has members responding to an OP not noticing that the thread is months or years old and the OP isn't interested; 3) pushes new/current topics down the list of threads, and 4) just basically clutters up the page.

In the case of Kamelia, I seems she is new and looking for any topics about Poland. That's great - just a good hint to look at the dates before topping.

Yes, it's perfectly safe to drink the water in Poland.

We made our trip and did drink the tap water in all cities we visited - Krakow, Vroclaw, Torun, Poznan, Gdansk, and Warsaw.- with no problems. The water was fine.
