Watch factory in Switzerland
Visiting Switzerland in June with kids. Planning to take them on the Chocolate Train so that they can see a Cheese factory and a Chocolate factory.
is there a Watch Factory which walks one through the process of making watches? One other thing: where do I validate the Swiss Pass at the Zurich Airport? Thanks |

Don't know about a Watch Factory.... Validate you swiss train pass down three levels from the Zurich Airport level. It will be well-marked "to the trains/Zuege". Happy Travels! |

Challenged by the watch factory question! Could find no info on the city websites, although it seems that Basel and Geneva often host watch exhibitions. DID learn that a shop in the Berner Oberland, Brienz, offers a 'hands-on watchmaking workshop' to certain guided tours...Perhaps if you check with this towns tourist office, they can tell you which shop (I suspect Jobin's) and if they would arrange for individuals. Brienz is an absolutely LOVELY old wood-carving town set on a lake (swimming beach available) and across from mountain peaks and waterfalls. The open-air museum of Ballenberg is a 10 minute bus ride above the town, set in a forest and with frequent craft demonstrations, and plenty of picnic areas. Also, the town has a small wild animal park and a steam engine train. I can't recommend this town highly enough--for both adults and kids! |
Thank you for your help. Will definitely check out Brienz as its about an hour from Grindelwald where I will be based. Cheers

Just checking to see if you did the chocolate train and how it was. I'm planning to take my kids next week. Was it worth the trip? |
I believe that in Biel there is a watch museum as well as the headquarters for the Omega group of watches
