I googled those miniTissues and they look like a great idea. I found similar products in sizes ranging from washcloth to beach towel. There were t-shirts and beach shorts as well. Methinks these would be a tad sheer when wet, but you could pack an entire wardrobe in your back pocket.
The towels looked like cute stocking stuffers because they came in various shapes and prints. (hearts, Union Jack, Swiss Army knife). No prices given. The company name was Leage Nonowonen. Okay, we're going to take a sobriety test boys and girls. Repeat after me. Leage Nonowonen. |
I always take disposable knickers with me on holiday.
They take up hardly any room in your case and you just throw them away. I have sometimes managed to get two days use out of them, but I don't know if you could wash them more than once. |
I'm aghast! Two days in the same pair of knickers? One may only consider this option when visiting countries south of the Mediterranean.
I suspect a few of my teachers didn't own a clean pair of knickers. But Miss Prism I have always regarded you as flower fresh. No more details, if you please. TMI! TMI! Back to the poster's original question. Can these knickers be cut up for face cloths on the third day? Will they still be sturdy enough to endure the rigors of exfoliation? Can the elastic bits be recycled as floss? Are disposable knickers flammable? How does one dispose of them? One flush or two? To the nearest penny, how much $ will I save if I wear the same pair for a week? |
specs, I read Miss Prism's post as if she washed the knickers between the two days of use. She even mentioned that she didn't know if you could wash them MORE than once, hence only the two days' use.
At least that's the way I want to imagine her. Can't imagine two days without without washing them. I tend to do two pairs a day. If I take a shower in the late afternoon or before going to dinner, I'm sure not going to put my worn ones back on! |
Thank you, Neo. The Prism post is not specific, and I am delighted to give her the benefit of the doubt. I shall immediately return Ms. Prism to her rightful place upon a pedestal.
I hope she won't smack my hand with a ruler and make me clean erasers after school. I'm sure your family and friends find your personal knicker habits fascinating. Just the thing to perk up an awkward lull in the conversation. Altho' it is thoughtful of you to now share this info with the world at large, it is presently a bit more than I'd care to know. Some things are better left a mystery. |
Just returned from Russia and was surprised to find washcloths in all our hotels as well as on the luxurious riverboat. We always carry a few disposable washcloths in the event none are provided.

"Miss Prism washes her bloomers after use" Honestly! I buy disposable ones from Boots and usually chuck them away each day. I have on occasion rinsed a pair out and managed to use them again. They survived one wash, but I'm not sure how many washes you could get out of them. Next time I go on holiday, I'll conduct an experiment. |
Do you remember that splendid lady who was going to Australia when there was a big security scare on.
You were only allowed a transparent bag with a few items in it. She said that there was no way that she was flying that way without a change of knickers, so she walked through security wearing a pair on her head. Who is the immodest person who introduced the knicker theme? They should be ashamed of themselves. |
specs, I assume you're kidding me, right?
In a thread filled with comments about the proper way to handle one's genitals and clean them, comments about finding excrement on someone else's washcloth, and various other details -- the idea that you find the statement that I change my underwear after I shower too much personal information is downright funny. |
Neo, I'm sure he/she was kidding. After all, we've learned about so many folks personal habits, I think it is wonderful that you shared too!
Now, Specs needs to share also - part of the bonding effect, you know! Come on Specs. Give us the "low" down! :-) We also welcome anyone else who wants to come out of the "down" there closet! Julie |
NeoPatrick:
KEEDING? MOI? NEVAIR! I would never "make the whimsy" with serious topics such as wash cloths and curling irons. The very idea is "down right funny". Julie, thank you for your kind invitation to over share. With regret, I must decline. Just continue to assume that all of specs' operating parts are spec-tacular, sense of humor is above par, and personal habits are beyond reproach. |
Excellent story about the lady going to Australia, MissPrism, thank you !
I used to buy those Boots disposable knickers a long time ago but had no idea they still did them. As far as I remember, though, they took up about the same amount of space as normal knickers rolled up ? Very possibly I need bigger ones than you, though :-) |
Boots sometimes have the disposables in the holiday section, but you can always find them in the maternity section.
I think that new mums like to have them in hospital. In my experience they take up less room than the conventional ones. They come folded in a small plastic tube. Why do I suspect that people are trying to get this subject to the 100 postings milestone? ;-) |
Using a face wash cloth is good for face skin.Without a wash cloth face cannot be cleaned properly.

Well since this old thread has been revived, I'll add a footnote. I recently went to a dermatologist for the first time ever. While he was examining my whole body, he mentioned "for a guy over 60 you have amazing skin. I'll bet you do a lot of scrubbing with a washcloth, don't you?" Yes. I do. I was taught as a child that's a great way to exfoliate the skin and revive it and keep it healthy. Apparently it works.
|
Bizarre, though - the person who revived this 5 year old thread seems to have registered just in order to do so!
|
maybe addy_wilson is in the face cloth/wash cloth business and needs to boost sales?
Very funny though. "I think I'll go register on a travel site and see if I can find a thread about wash cloths to post on." |
