Warsaw, worthwhile? Krakow, going!

I am looking at booking a ticket using FF miles and Warsaw is a possilbe option. I have read about Poland and Krakow is definitely of interest, not Warsaw. I would like to hear from fodorites who have been to Warsaw, is it worth a visit? I usually am interested in historic and cultural sights.

Any information about Krakow will be appreciated too.

Thanks

We were in Warsaw and Krakow last summer. Click on my name for my trip report on Central Europe. We really enjoyed Warsaw as well as Krakow.

For us, it was definitely worth while visiting Warsaw. Seeing how an old city was destroyed and rebuilt in its old image. Krakow is wonderful. We have visited twice and may go back next year. Good information on this web site for both cities. Richard www.inyourpocket.com/

I really enjoyed Warsaw--actually, more than I had anticipated. The War Resistance museum is an absolute must, to me, and the reconstructed areas are lovely. Here's my report if you'd like a bit of reading: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...-july-2006.cfm

I loved Krakow and while I can't say that I LOVED Warsaw, I am very glad that I visited it.
