Warning: Weekend a Firenze does not play fair.
I had to cancel this summer my reservations for two people at the Gallerie dell Academie in Venice because of the train strike. I e-mailed Weekend a Firenze way in advance that we were cancelling and to refund us the cost of the tickets minus the booking charge. This email was not ambiguous, but clearly stated that we did not want the tickets. We then received an email from Weekend asking us if they wanted us to proceed with the refund. I sent a second email saying that we requested a refund. We never received the refund. Weekend claims that they never received the second email. It seems ludicrous to me that my first email was not sufficent for them to proceed. I do not think that Weekend played fair or Weekend is incompetent and I would discourage others from using this site.

Did you book with a credit card?
If so, then go thru the process of disputing your charges, and be ready to provide paper copies of the emails, booking dates, cancellation dates, etc. |
Sorry to hear aboout this.
In cases like this, it is worthwhile using an e-mail account where you receive a confirmation that the e-mail was received at their server and opened. Then you have proof that your request arrived and was reviewed and the fault lies at their end. I also use this feature when I send a note to an hotel requesting a booking, so I can follow up and tell them "I know you got it and you are ignoring me!". Regards Ger |
Travelnut,Yes, I did book with a credit card. I will follow through with your advice. Thank you for the suggestion. Also, thanks Oreilly for the suggestion of using a confirmation that the email was received. Good advice.
