Warm waterproof shoes for europe
Am going to US, Helsinki, UK, France and Italy for 8 weeks this Dec 2007. Probably will only take 2 pairs of shoes. I want warm dry feet, light weight, comfy and need to be able to drive in them and go to a restaurant.
The waterproof hiking shoes I've seen all look like mountain climbing boots or high running shoes. Anyone know of a mid rise boot that doesn't look like I'm scaling Mt Everest. |

Hi jedistar,
I find these from LL Bean to work in all situations except hiking in the dead of winter -- http://tinyurl.com/223r82 s |
You might be interested in something like this:
http://tinyurl.com/25xb5l This is a waterproof mid-cut boot that appears very lightweight, durable and appropriate for many different uses. With slacks, they would look dressy enough for dinner. With anything casual, they would look casual. My experience with Teva is that the shoes are extremely comfortable and well-made (long-lasting). They are on closeout with Sierra Trading Post (link above), so if they don't have your size, just Google "Teva Tofino." As for warmth, I don't know just how warm these keep your feet, but you can always adjust warmth with the right kind of socks and sock liners. |
Check out ecco shoes. Some are gortex all are very comfortable. I swear by them for the last 10 years. I find myself out in the weather sometimes for work and other times in professional environment and they work both places. thereyet
