Wanting to set up May 2006 Italy Fodorite get togther(s)!
 

Greetings fodorites! I know this is a bit early and will plan to bump this posting to the top throughout the next several months.

I noticed several people will be in Italy in May, as well as in the same cities as me: Florence and Bologna.

I would love to set up some fodorite get togethers while in Italy. Please let me know if you are interested! I'll be in Florence the 12th for 4 nights, Bologna for 6 nights (16th...) and Venice 4 nights (22nd...). We could meet for drinks and/or dinner. I'm flexible.

PS: My dates of travel were moved back by one day, so I'll be in Florence on the 11th; Bologna the 15th, Venice the 21st - same number of nights as my original message.

Too bad my timing doesn't coincide with yours but I do plan to go to GTG in Bethesda. I'm flying to Rome March 22 to meet my daughter who is studying in Rome until May. We will go to Siena, Cinque Terre, and Venice. I cannot wait.

We're getting married in Positano on April 28, and touring around Siena, Florence and Venice until May 10. We'll be in honeymoon mode, but maybe a lunch or drinks would be nice one day. :) It's our first time.

I’m planning a May trip to Italy, probably to Venice, Florence, and Rome, with side trips. I haven’t come close to pinning down anything, but the prospect of getting together with other Fodorites for dinner and/or drinks is inviting. I’ll contact you, and perhaps you can keep me updated about who will be where and when. Does that sound reasonable?

Hey Monica it's me...Julie. My friend Betsy and I met up with you and your cousin in Venice (2001?!?). As it happens, I will be in Italy in May but my itinerary is based on Rome (May 11-20) - will be doing some day trips, but I plan to stay in Rome for duration at this point. I'm sure as we get closer to May you'll get more responses re: the rest of your trip. Hope all is well with you and Reenie. Until later...

Monica - We'll be in Italy May 18-29, but it looks like the only date that ours may meet up with yours is the eve of the 26th in Venice (if I understand your itinerary correctly). Not sure though because we'll be coming in late from Bologna, but I'll keep checking.
Our schedule is Rome 19-23, Florence 23-26, Venice 26-29, Paris 29-1.

Hi Julie! Glad to hear from you. Send me an email so we can correspond...unless the one I have is still current. Reenie is fine and keeps asking me "When can we go to China?" Not yet. Enjoy your Rome trip!
