I can't get the link to work or find the information by searching around on bbc. Can you tell me what section of the website you found this? Thanks!

starspinners May 20th, 2005 12:20 PM

I couldn't get that link to open either.
When I went exploring on BBC I did find the page in question by first going to: http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/
then from the column on the left side of the page I selected "features"
when I got to that page I found an article entitled :" Discover London" which has a clickable link. ( the article is directly beneath the photo of people celebrating the anniversary of V-E Day.
When I clicked that link I was taken to: http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/yourlond...r_london.shtml
which is the same link that JudyC posted and that wouldn't open for me before. #-O
Of course the whole page will likely be updated or moved soon and that means the article may be even more elusive to find. I'm going to copy the text for my files.
So if any one wants to read the article email starspinners at hotmail and I will send it to you.

London Walks are truly the best bargain (next to free museums) in London. You could literally fill your time in London with these educational and fun offerings. They are also fantastic for solo travelers, who want to connect with others at some point of their journey.

I agree that the Original London Walks are a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours exploring London with a knowledgeable guide.
I take one or two walks each time I'm in town. I don't think I ever would have discovered some of the out of the way places on my own.

The BBC article is about the Mayor of London's new campaign of 11 walking trails which will link up over 100 of London's smaller museums and galleries.
I'm looking forward to trying a couple of these walks, too.

Thanks Starspinner, I totally missed that point. :-)

I am afraid I don't know how the link didn't work, I have tried again without problem.

For other interesting self-guided walks in southern London, please check: www.greenchain.com.

Actually, the original link works if you change the capitalized "London" to lower case:

Got the information now! I bookmarked it so I can read it later. My son and I are going in August for 12 days and I'm looking forward to trying some of these out. Thank you JudyC for the information! (going to check out that other site you gave too)

Oh... and thank you to everyone else too for figuring out how to see in walk information!
