Walking tours: Rome, Venice, Florence

Friends of our recommended taking 3 hour walking tours on our first day in each of these cities. They learned a lot and felt very oriented to the city. does anyone know which companies offer the best tours? Is Enjoy Rome a good one? Thanks.

We took artviva's Original Florence Walk (as part of their Florence in One Day package) and would definitely recommend this company.

I can also highly recommend Avventure Bellissime's Ghost Walk tour in Venice if you are interested in a different sort of orientation experience.

In both cases, the companies were easy to deal with, the guides were very knowledgeable and full of interesting tidbits, and the prices were good (20 or 25 euro pp).

Can anyone recommend a private walking tour company in Rome?
I have read things about Enjoy Rome, but would feel more comfortable being able to book in advance to ensure the tour of my choice is running.

I have taken a few tours with Enjoy Rome. They are inexpensive and I thought the guides were quite good, although they do not go into the level of detail, perhaps, of an outfit such as Context Rome. If your budget is large, I would recommend a private tour with Francesa Caruso..
