I will respond to everyone later this afternoon. The upholsterer will be at my house at 1 p.m.

KatieL, I sent the information to your e-mail address.

wanderlust125, I sent the information to your e-mail address.

For everyone else: I use these paper maps as my "work" map, i.e. I can write on them in pencil, erase, stick labels to them, use highlighters, etc.

To receive free paper maps of Italian cities, this is the information from the office of Global Refund's letterhead:

www.globalrefund.com
[email protected]

Mail Address:
Global Refund
Via Tintoretto, 15
Cassano Magnago(VA) Italy 21012

They do not have maps of Sorrento, nor the Isle of Capri. I received my maps within two weeks from date of request.

I'm going to Venice in May and would like to see your tour thoughts. E-mail to [email protected]. Thanks.

i_am_kane Mar 13th, 2006 12:41 PM

chaslosh,

When you say my tour thoughts, do you mean the actual walking tour?

If you want to print it off this forum, you can do that, or if you would like the actual Word doc, I will e-mail it to you.

Please let me know.

tribi Mar 13th, 2006 01:22 PM

mcnyc Mar 13th, 2006 04:42 PM

Wow...looks like a great walking tour I_am_Kane! Thanks for all the effort you put into it.

I too would love a copy on word...if it's different from what you posted here. My email is [email protected]

i_am_kane Mar 13th, 2006 04:53 PM

mcnyc,

I just sent it to your e-mail address. It's exactly the same, just formatted differently.

Thank you... :)

tribi Mar 14th, 2006 06:46 PM

Hello

Can someone please tell me how to get the paper maps.

thanks

i_am_kane Mar 14th, 2006 06:49 PM

tribi,

Please read my post of 3/13/06 at 3:48 p.m. All the information you need to order the free maps is there.

tribi Mar 14th, 2006 07:07 PM

Kane. I still don't understand.
Do I need to request the maps at their web site, it does not say anything about maps or should I write to them at the address shown.

Please be a little more specific, I am not familiar with all this.

thanks again

i_am_kane Mar 15th, 2006 03:54 AM

tribi,

One link is their web site, one link is their e-mail address.

You can either double-click on the link: [email protected] and an "Outlook" box will pop up with the address already inserted. I would suggest typing a brief statement that you are requesting free maps (indicate the number you need for each city), and type in your mailing address. Needless to say, it is good manners to thank them in advance for this service.

When I send a message through Outlook, it always automatically sends a copy to my Hot Mail Inbox. You may want to copy yourself to be sure you have a copy that the message was sent.

Or, you can send the message using your own e-mail service.

i_am_kane Mar 15th, 2006 03:59 AM

tribi,

I just went into the web site: www.globalrefund.com. You can order directly from this site:

In the drop-down box select Italy (or any other country), and on the next screen, Order Material. On this screen there are city names with boxes - just check off the appropriate cities.

I went back into the site, and you can also select Leaflet Order and follow the instructions.

If all else fails, try snail mail.

Thank you very much Kane. I appreciate your help.

Hi I_Am_Kane, I'm going o study your walking tour, you responded to my other post that you think I could do all three in 8 days . . . We are flying into rome, where do you suggest we stay first? Florence or Venice? We get in at 11am. I would still really love to do all 3 in 8 days. we get there sun 11am, leave sun 1pm. so we have a full 7 days. i think i'll be too excited to sleep anyway. hehe jet lag, i think i can deal hehe. can you please recommend if i should fly in and go to venice first or florence first, or what would be your ideal itineary? I also considered staying in rome one day and then going to venice or florence, but then i thought it'd be niceer to clump rome into the last 3 days. I'm totally open to suggestions though. if you can please email me at peachat at yahoo dot com

much appreciated,
appletea
