walking tours in rome

Hi. Can anyone recommend walking tour companies in Rome. I was looking at romewalks website and it looks good as well as scala reale. My concern about scala reale is that I emailed them about tour dates and they did not respond so I don't know how reliable they are. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My experience with Scala Reale is that they are very reliable. They are a small outfit. Why not try them again before giving up on them?

I've also seen positive posts on througheternity.com. Try a search here on "rome walking tours." There should be quite a few threads.

Roman Odyssey is the most reasonably priced and did a great job.

I had good experiences with Enjoy Rome, at www.enjoyrome.com

amyatl,

I recently booked some tours through Scala Reale. They were closed in late August and so that might account for their radio silence. If you want to book for tours in the next month or two, you can actually book their tours now through another website called Context|Rome--there is a link through Scala Reale's website.

This site has many previous postings on walking tours in Rome, although Scala Reale appears to be the unanimous favorite. Enjoyrome has also gotten good reviews.

We had an exceptional private tour with Through Eternity (www.througheternity.com). Our guide was named Johnny and he was fabulous...knowledgeable, interesting, and very much in tune with the tastes of the group.
