Walking Tour of Florence in May
I would appreciate recommendations based on personal experience of a walking tour for small groups (ten or fewer) led by an English speaking person. We are adults in good physical condition. Since our time is limited we prefer a two to three hour tour.
Should we book in advance or is it reasonably likely we can arrange the tour on the day of arrival? Thank you. |
Google walking tours and Florence. There is a company in Florance with City Walks or Walk tours or something like that in their name. We had a great guide. A middle age, Am art student who came to Florence on a study abroad and never went home. Just remembered -- Walking Tours of Florence -- actually wife did. She was informative especially when we begin to ask question comparing her life style in Italy (married, kids, etc.) and visiting parents in the US.

Thank you for the response. Is this the operator you used?

Sounds right but not sure -- I have noticed in Europe that different group will use very similar sounding names. I do know the name was Walking Tours of Florence. I think we arranged it through the TI. And it seemed to me to be closer to a three/four hour tour. But it was couple of years ago, also. I will see what I can find in our travel file.

Thanks, I appreciate you checking on it for me. There are a number of similarly named companies. Oddly when you google the terms, art viva comes up. They got some bad reviews on Slow Travel forum.

The price quotes I am receiving for a two to three hour walking tour are forty five euros and up per person not including admission prices. Is that in line with what you paid?

Don't remember but will check Marcia's memory file.

In June of 07 we paid 25E for a three hour, Original Florence walking tour from Walking Tour of Florence. I cannot remember if we paid any additional entrance fees.

Thank you so much for checking on that for me.
