Walking times in London

Visitors to London should check out this new website

http://www.walkit.com

If you type in your starting point and destination, it tells you walking times (based on slow/medium/fast walking), distance in miles and even calories burned !

I think it's a great idea - the tube is great in many respects but I try to walk as much as possible in London as you see so many interesting things... and it keeps you fit :-)

This is a good website - thanks, Susie, for bringing it to our attention. I have bookmarked this one for future use!

I bookmarked it also. It's easy to get disoriented if using the tube a lot (at least for me) even with a good A-Z guide. I'm going to play around with that site this weekend.

I'll have to give this a try. Usually, I sort of wander in London, knowing I just need to find a Tube station.

Carrybean, I know you're hooked on London as much as I am! I've gotten disorientated coming out of the Tube, but now I always bring a small (size of a dime) compass that fits on my watch.

That's a good idea, Cubfan! I'll do that. I've also discovered I've taken the tube when I could have easily walked the distance & after all these trips there I still misjudge how far apart some things are.

Besides, more walkind would do me good.
