walking in italy and france

we are planning a walking tour of southern tuscany and the dordogne this summer. has anyone done anything similar?? any tips pr suggestions??

There is a book about that type of trip, I think it is called "A Walk Across France". As i remember it the couple decides to walk all the way across southern France on summer. Good luck to you, it's not for me.

I haven't done it but i have friends whi have. there is a company in the UK called Alternative Travel who specialise in organising such tours either on a group or individual basis. One friend did the group in Tuscan last year, and a couple did the individual walking in the Dordogne.

Both raved about it. They organise luggage transfer and links with planes. etc.

if you want I can find their address. (I hope that's not advertising)
