Walking in England

Can you recommend a good outfit for guided walking tours in Southern England. Two fit seniors. Rail Access from Heathrow would be nice. There are so many we need help choosing.

Walking in Europe requires good walking shoes, and some rain gear, and a warm cap. Sweaters, covered by a light nylon jacket that rolls up to fit in you pocket is what I wear. Forget the umbrella (except for in the city). (also take bug spray, high calories snacks, water, sun glasses, aspirin, a good map and gloves.)

P.S> log on to www.chycor.co.uk/ for some ideas of connecting trains to the main BritRail options. (for Cornwall and Devon)

Hello,
Are you interesting in companies that
provide guided walking tours in England?

I have used Footpath Holidays a number of times and have been very pleased with their guides, hotels and walks.
I highly recommend them. The owners are very attentive and hands-on. Their website is http://www.footpath-holidays.com.

I also would recommend Footpath Holidays. Alternatively, one of the lowest priced companies is HF Holidays, at www.hfholidays.co.uk
They have tours all over Great Britain and offer 3 levels of walks daily. They also have special interest holidays, such as golf or gardening.
