Walking/hiking near Biarritz?

I'll be in Biarritz for a few days and would like to take a half-day hike for some beautiful scenery and some exercise. Any recommendations? Can go by either car or train, but latter is preferred.

great beach walk (on the hardpack at shore's edge) between Biarritz and Bidart...there was one section where you wold have to go to the road for a few kms... mayb be adjusted by now...wonderful rock formations near Bidart.

I walked a few km south on the beach, but not as far as Bidart. I got as far as a restaurant up on the cliff. Had to walk in the surf for a stretch, but that would depend on the tide.

hopscotch and Salsa:

That restaurant is a great spot for lunch...it's just down the beach from the Villa L'Arche (one of our Top Ten lodgings) and it's called La Tantina de Plage, where the fish soup and mussels is a specialty.
