Walk mile 5 or 6 on Appian Way?

Hi,
We are looking at walking part of the Appian Way on a Sunday in April. We want to walk on the "best" section were the road is basalt stones, the cedars are along the road, and the tombs are many. Which section of the road would fit the bill?

Our plan is to hire a private driver and start at the San Callisto Catacomb when it opens, be driven to our selected road section, be picked up and taken to the Aquaducts for a picnic, and afterwards be driven back to our apartment in Rome. We are all 60 and in pretty good shape, but we don't want to be beaten to death by walking all morning.

Thanks.
