"Walk-ins" at Reims champagne houses?

I'm going to Reims Tues. May 29. I've already printed my train tickets but I hate making reservations while on vacation.

Would it be a big deal NOT to reserve at Piper Heidsieck and Tattinger?

No reservations required. Was there "off season" (feb). I took train from Paris on a weekday, toured the cathedral, then after lunch in city centre walked to Taitinger for a tour. They waited till there is enough people for a tour (10 mins), then off we went.

Michel,

Great...thanks!

Something else I forgot to ask...any suggestions on a cheap place to grab a bite like a sandwich or salad? I can't eat seafood and I don't seem to be able to find any info except for higher priced meals.
