Wales: Lodging suggestions near Snowdonia National Park

My daughter, husband and children ages 7 and 9 are looking for lodging near Snowdonia National Park. They will be there in mid-August this year for two nights. Does anyone have recommendations for B&B or hotel? The top of their budget is between 150-175 GBP/night. Ideally they would like to all be in one room but realize they may need two rooms. I am asking on her behalf because she is frantically busy at the moment and this opportunity has just come up. She knows they have to book very quickly. They will have a car. Thanks very much for whatever you can suggest. Kate

I haven't stayed here but my S-i-L and family did (Kids a little older than yours) and thought it was good value for the family room. Betws-y-Coed B&B Coed y Fron in Betws-y-Coed

Bryn Tyrch Inn is a good option and they do have rooms for four (bunk beds and perhaps other options). Just outside Betws-y-Coed. Good pub/restaurant. It's also on the Sherpa bus route to Snowdon with a stop right at the Inn (parking at some Snowdon trail heads can be near impossible). 7 to 9 year olds should have no problem on the Pyg Trail up Snowdon if they are used to walking. Lots of other walking/hiking options in the area including Moel Siabod (far less crowded than Snowdon).

I recommend Hangin' Pizzaria in Betws-y-Coed.

In 2015, we stayed at the Beaches Hotel in Prestatyn, about an hour's drive from Snowdonia.

I wouldn't recommend Prestatyn at all. It's run down and too far from the Snowdon area. Betws y Coed is certainly a far better base so try booking.com for a wider choice of hotels, guest houses etc.
