Wales as expensive as rest of England?
I know this is a very general question, I'm currently budgeting so I need to know the scope of the costs while in the UK. Compared to London and its surroundings, will I find Wales cheaper or more expensive?
Wales is considerably cheaper. In fact it's about the cheapest bit of the mainland UK.

Incidentally EVERYWHERE is cheaper than London.
Haha I pretty much knew that about London. And considerably cheaper is a phrase I like, thanks! :)
Eek! Change that heading before you get an army of angry leek wielding Welsh folk banging on your door.
Wales is not part of England.
Well it's on the island of England, no? :p
As I usnderstand it, it's on the island of Britain.

Within the island are England, Wales and Scotland. These, in conjunction with Northern Ireland, make up the United Kingdom.

I sure hope I have that right! Anyone feel free to let me have it if I'm not.
No - it's on the island of Great Britain (made up of England, Scotland and Wales). Together with Northern Ireland the four "countries" form the UK which is the sovereign state. Just don't ask what the British Isles are...
Oh dear... we are all separate countries and like to be known as such. That heading would tend to whip some people up into a bit of a frenzy! ;O)

Golly, when I read the title I assumed that Rest of England simply meant England other than London.

Do we have any evidence to support the contention that prices in Wales are the cheapest in the UK? My limited personal experience has not led me to believe that Cardiff and Brecon, for example, are any cheaper than, say Hereford or Ross-on-Wye at least for a tourist, which this is presumably about. While real ales prices may not be a significant portion of the RPI, some of us think they are pretty important. The 2002 CAMRA price survey points out that prices in Yorkshire, the West Midlands, the North and the Northwest are cheaper than in Wales.

Island of Great Britian eh? Interesting. Guess I showed my ignorance of the UK ;)
make that mistake in Scotland and you won't be walking home:)
