Waddesdon Manor question

I'm thinking of visiting Waddesdon Manor on Saturday. I could get there around 12:30, and the house is open from 11 - 4 pm, while the gardens are open till 5 pm. Would from 12:30 - 5 be enough time to see the house and gardens, and, should I be concerned about house tickets selling out if it opens at 11 but I arrive at 12:30?

I would have thought you would have plenty of time, I wouldn't have thought the tickets would be sold out but it does look like you could book them in advance:

I've been to Waddesdon Manor probably 15 times over the last 30 years and have never seen it overly busy except for special events or free open days.

12:30 to 5 will be plenty of time. The house itself is fascinating and w/ the bachelors wing and everything (be sure to include the Bachelors wing in your ticket). I'd plan on 90 mins to 2 hours for the house - giving you lots of time for the grounds.

Thanks. I think it may be weather-dependent, and I could change to a weekday where it is less expensive and has much better bus connections.

BTW, I don't suppose anyone knows how close the Arriva 16/17 bus from Aylesbury gets to the Manor?

It's good to know that a few hours should be plenty of time.

I think the Bachelor's Wing is only open weekdays ... so it's definitely worth seeing? The tickets are quite expensive overall!

IMHO the bachelor's wing is fascinating. Entirely different than the "French Chateau-ish" of the rest of the manor.

Definitely go on a day it is open - an interesting contrast to the rest of the Manor.

Sorry, can't help re the bus stop but the website does provide an e-mail address and phone numbers so it's worth a shot to ask them . . . .
