W Istanbul

Jump to last reply

We are planning our honeymoon in Turkey in September. A good friend of ours is pretty high up in Starwood corporation headquaters and offered to get us a very good rate for W in Istanbul, which I've always thought looked nice. However, besides the fact this is a "chain" hotel, I know this is a bit further from the old city and many tourist sites.

My question simply is - has anyone stayed here and how long (on average) would it take to get the main tourist sites and the "old city"? How complicated was it? Were there convenient places near the hotel for quick meals (especially breakfast)?

(please note that I'm not looking for anyone bashing the fact that I'm considering staying in an American chain hotel while abroad, etc)

Thank you
