VRBO Barcelona Apartment Eixample ANYONE USED THIS GUY?

I got a lot of info from my first apartment thread and it's been difficult to narrow down the choices out there. I definitely decided on the Eixample neighborhood, near Passeig de Gracia since I love window shopping.

So I found this VRBO listing, who's owner's name is Derek Payne. I'd like to know if anyone has stayed in this apartment or knows the area, or has any input on the apartment in general. Does anyone see anything of concern in the photos? The location seems good, it's right on the corner of Passeig de Gracia and Consejo de Ciento.

Is this a loud area?

Hi Guilia

I am looking to book an apartment in barcelona, and was actually looking at the same one on VRBO you referenced. Did you end up booking with Derek Payne and did you have a positive experience?

Thanks

I am looking at those same apartments now, a year later. Has anyone had experience--good or bad--with the owner and the units?

I would not stay on P.de Gracia. unless it is high floor and bedrooms are not on the street side of the building.
A major street, great location but lots of cars and people.
The gays renting the place are from London.

I'm not familiar with the apartment, but the location is absolute prime. Most of the streets in the Eixample area have a good deal of traffic and people, so I disagree with danon. Also, most of those apartments are well-built with relatively good soundproofing, so unless your windows are open, the noise is not such a big issue. Finally, as a side comment, I'm not sure why danon felt he/she needed to put the last sentence in his/her posting, but I find it horribly offensive.

sorry, it was to be guys.. not gays.
It was a spelling error ...don't get all huffy.
By guys, I mean the outfit...not the people.

Dannon
You was lucky no one saw that in the 4 hours between the 2 postings ;-)
