VRBO 61185 Paris Apartment
 

I've asked about this and other apartments before, but I didn't get much of a response. I think DH and I are going with this one unless some of you savy fodorites can clue me in to something negative that I'm missing. There aren't very many pictures, but the owner sent me some pics of the bathroom. It has a shower with a curtain, which I've noticed is missing from many Paris apartments. Anyway, thanks in advance for your comments.

I think it looks pretty nice and don't see anything drastically wrong, as long as you are satisfied with the bathroom. Owners usually don't post pictures of things they are hiding. I don't like shower curtains myself as I think they are often gross and potentially moldy, so that wouldn't influence me to like it. I prefer the typical tub with sprayer wand.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a real double bed, only twins. I won't rent a place like that, but lots of people don't mind that (twins pushed together). Of course it's small, but that's typical and shouldn't be too bad for a vacation.

I have stayed at VRBO homes twice in the last year, Siena & Seattle. Both experiences were fantastic. I'm planning a trip to Rome & Paris in 07' and I'll do the same again. If there were any complaints against the Owners of the home on the list, VRBO management would remove them promptly.
I also have a vacation home listed on VRBO #82624 and it has been a wonderful experience with all the renters I had this year. It doesn't get much better to stay in a home when your traveling. I'll never stay in a hotel room again!

I think the apartment is lovely!
Everywhere we went in Germany they had those twins pushed together. I asked if we couldn't get a set for here in the US! I liked sleeping like that!

My fiance hasn't had the chance yet to leaf-peep in New England even tho he has now lived here for 10 years. You have a BEAUTIFUL place..nice kitchen.
I "get" that place...

Brockbank, it has the features I'd be looking for at that price: elevator, internet, lots of comfortable seating in the living room, separate dining area, a kitchen you can cook in, and a washer/dryer for extended stays. Nicely decorated, too--it looks quite welcoming. I'd have one lingering question: that bedroom might be on the small side; you can't really tell from the photo. My guess is that it's fine, but it might be worth asking about the size of the bedroom.

Oh, great location, too. We stayed at the Hôtel Quai Voltaire on our first visit to Paris 30 years ago. It's just around the corner from rue de Beaune.
