vrbo 49273
Has anyone stayed at vrbo 49273?
|
Not everyone knows that vrbo stands for vacation rentals by owner. Try again but with more info on where, etc.
|
My friend stayed there in October and loved it. Great location, pretty place, very comfortable.
|
Lily, no offense, but anyone that has stayed here and therefore can answer the OP's question would undoubtedly know what vrbo means.
|
ripit, point taken. And I looked at vrbo 49273 and it looks marvellous!
|
I remember a fairly recent discussion of this same apartment. I'm a sucker for stone walls so I like it. The biggest drawback is that it is ground floor, which probably means you have to keep the draperies closed all the time. I'm curious if there is much "people traffic" outside those windows.
|
Thousands of people read this forum who can't answer the question but are interested in the discussion. They aren't private messages.
I'm intrigued now by NeoPatrick's post, but because I haven't a clue what "vrbo" means I'll never get to see what it is! |
If you were really that intrigued, you could find out on Google in less time than it takes to write a post on Fodors.
|
or you could find out by reading the second post above which says that vrbo stands for vacation rentals by owner.
If I read that I'd either Google or just try www.vrbo.com. Either of those attempts would work. Although honestly, I'd agree the original post would be MORE helpful or clearer by giving a little more info. |

..looks lovely; the only downside is that the bed is in the living room as opposed to an alcove. I find that this is not ideal if having friends over (..goes back to a hangup about "entertaining in your bedroom") but great for a couple.
|
travelbunny, I always thought as you do, but I've recently changed by aversion to "studios" where the bed is in the living room. I finally realized that many times the studio is the same overall size as a one bedroom apartment. But once there is a wall dividing the two areas, the entire area seems very small. I understand your point about having friends over, but I'm not sure how many of us staying in a foreign city for a week are ever going to do that.
We now rent a studio in Paris that seems two to three times the size of the one bedrooms we've rented before -- probably not, but it just seems more spacious. |
N.P..you are right about floor plan. I have found studios that seem to have the bed tucked into alcoves or there seems to be some quirky design of the room which results in the bed being tucked away. I do have friends over for drinks or dinner but this is a result of "life wanderings".

I have had it bookmarked for a couple of years now -- and would probably be staying there in March (11-17) had not some kind Canadian friends offered us their pied-a-terre in the 6th, in the rue du Cherche-Midi.
Can anyone who knows this apartment please provide additional details (for next time) |
I'm the owner of http://www.vrbo.com/49273 , just now new to this site. To answer the question asked by NeoPatrick, the courtyard sees very little foot traffic. The reason is that the access for all the other apartments in the building is via the main stairs, which are elsewhere. Those residents (and there are not many because there are only a handful of apartments in the whole building) only go there to put their trash in the bin room. Also, it's worth knowing that the angles are such that it's pretty much impossible to see into the glass French doors. Someone would have to go out of their way to do so -- which a Parisian would never do! They are all much too polite for that. :)
To be quite honest, I had exactly the same worry when I first purchased the apartment. In the end, I've been very relieved to find that's it's a non-issue. After all, I stay there, too! Cheers, Chris |
I've had that apt on my list for awhile and am watching it for October. Can't book until my dates are firmed up in March. Fingers crossed
|
avalon, be sure to let us know. Since the apt. owner lifted this two year old thread, now I'm curious about this apartment. It still looks very nice for the price, and I like the location. I'm curious if that is a rain shower overhead in the tub/shower.
But alas, I have no Paris plans in my immediate future. |
All, I've stayed in this apt and I wrote about it in the Paris Apartment thread. Whereever the darn thing is now...
|
I am staying there at the end of the month as our regular flat around the corner is occupied by family. I will let you all know.
