Voltage in Italy
I know this has been done many times before. I just wanted to confirm that my battery charger will work with the converter I purchased:
http://www.brookstone.com/shop/produ...pe=subcategory The charger says 100-240 V 50/60 Hz. My flat iron for my hair says 100-240 Volt 55-60 Hz. Thanks for answering a "dumb" question! |
yep, it'll work. both devices are dual voltage so all you need is this plug adapter.
|
This Brookstone adapter (not a converter) looks to be a "swiss Army knife" version of something you ought to be able to buy anywhere for about 2-4 euro (or borrow from your hotel front desk for free).
Best wishes, Rex |
yeah but €2-4 is worth about $20 these days!!!
|
I will send you 4 euro in an envelope in exchange for 20 US dollars any day.
And I'll pay the postage both ways, if you wish. I will repeat it hundreds or thousands or time, if you wish. I'd stay up all night, stuffing envelopes, at your request - - under these terms. ;) |
eBay
Five bucks, tops. Including shipping. |
The item you puchased is an ADAPTER (to fit into international plugs). Brookstone's info clearly states it is NOT A CONVERTER and is to be used only with a converter or a dual voltage appliance and will therefor work with your charger, iron and hair drier. You do not need to buy another adapter.

Thanks for all the responses. I did realize that all I needed was the adapter, I just used the wrong terminology. I just seeked reassurance because on my last trip I bought the converter which weighed about 5 lbs, and didn't fit into the plugs in Rome. After I bought this one at Brookstone I realized I could have gotten one much cheaper... you live & learn.
