something does smell here - "he has travelled quite a bit" yet says he called the State Dept?? Doesn't make any sense no matter how you slice it. Sure would like to know the real story, but we likely won't hear it since redhedgurrl has declared it a "done subject" . . . . .

Not sure if this is the same thing, but on my last trip to Europe I logged onto the state dept and filled out their travel registration form. https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui/ I did it in case I had an emergency overseas. Also I was originally planning to travel solo and felt it would help me out in an emergency.

Hi - really - I am not a troll - I have given and recieved good info on this message board. There is no hidden agenda - I just wanted to ask the questions because of what my friend told me, and now that he has cleared it up - and I don't know all of his details about how this happened - I didn't want anyone to think I still needed any feedback at all. Please just let it go. Thanks -

rehedgurrl,
I just wanted to say that I have had thissame experience of the self-named PHd's of Travel...which I consider (piled higher and deeper)beat an issue to death when I posted an honest question. I am glad it is clear (for you and your friend) and happy travels to your friend!
