Visiting Northern Spain
Hi,
We have family in Menorca whom we visit every year but this year we hope to avoid the overnight in Barcelona then on to Menorca. We also want to spend a week in Basque region of Northern Spain, specifically San Sebastian. Madrid is an option to fly in and out of and then where would you spend the week in the north. We love villages, food, paradors, history and wine. Many thanks. |
Moved to Europe board and tagged for Spain.

Northern Spain is a large area, covering the whole length of the Pyrenees and then some. Is the week spent in and around San Sebastian the only time you have? Will you have a car or do you plane to use public transportation? These things would be good to know to offer useful information.

One week in Donostia-San Sebastian may be too much. There´s not much to see or do in the city, I would combine this visit with Bilbao, if possible.

One week in the North is all we have. We will fly from Barcelona or Madrid or some other suggestion ? We will rent a car.
many thanks |
With a car, the area east of San Sebastian is quite nice.

many thanks I agree a week in SS might be too long. One can also cross to France , since you will have the car. |
