Dachau is nowhere near Frankfurt. It is on the outskirts of Munich!
Have you got the wrong camp?

Sdrazvutye, Sergey:

Dachau is a small town just outside Munich (northwest)...it's a very long way from Frankfurt by any mode of transportation other than air. Roughly 400m kms.

Rudesheim is a Rhineside town within reasonable distance of Frankfurt. I'd say there is public transport between the two.

Go to Mainz. Pleasant pedestrian shopping area; Gutenberg museum, nice riverside scenery; a nice Dom.

>someone told me that its only several hours away on the train.

the someone was correct - it is several hours away by train, several being about 4. One way.

Do you want to spend 8 hours in the train?

Does anyone know if you need international licence to drive in Germany?

traveldawg Jun 25th, 2008 02:55 PM

You do not need an international license for Germany.

If you have time go to Heidelberg. It is less than an hour drive from Frankfurt airport and on the same side of the town so you only have autobahn to drive and no town to go through.

The Rhine area is also a good choice. Just depends on your time and transportation.
