Istanbul Recommended Hotel
Hello,
During my stay I'd like to see Hagia Sophia, Old City and Golden Horn. Also visit some museums. What else is worth seeing? And any hotel near these places? Thanks, |
The Hagia Sofya is in the Old Town, or Sultanahmet as it is called. Golden Horn is further away.
There are many hotels in Sultanahmet, on previous visits we stayed at Hotel Uyan, a small boutique hotel near the Spice Market, behind the Blue Mosque. They have a lovely rooftop restaurant with sweeping views of the Bosphorus, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofya. Breakfast is served here every morning, we have come back in the evening too to watch the sunset. Lots of similar hotels in the area, booking.com would be a good place to check, though I personally prefer to book directly with the hotel. |
Visiting Constantinople
Hi everyone,
I'm planning a trip to the historic Sultanahmet area of Constantinople and I'm looking for a cozy and friendly hotel. Any recommendations? I'm seeking a place where I can relax after exploring landmarks like the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. A delightful breakfast would be a bonus since I enjoy leisurely mornings. How are the rooms and the overall service? Any hidden gems or must-visit spots in the old Constantinople area you'd recommend? Thanks for your insights! |

Please see your other thread:
https://www.fodors.com/community/eur...hotel-1723274/ FWIW, I preferred the area of Sultanahmet nearer to Sirkeci than either of the hotels already mentioned, perhas the Hotel Erboy. |

Well, there are many many places to explore in Istanbul. And overall its quite cheap, therefore I'd say make your stay at least a week. During your stay, you can also visit; Taksim Square, Beşiktaş, Galata Tower. You might as well go to Anatolian side and see Cadde Bostan and Kadıköy.
