Visiting Alhambra at night?
I read many posts here about visiting fascinating Alhambra in Granada. But I did not find anyone mentioning a visit at night. Because we will be staying in the Parador we think that a night visit may be very interesting. Would you visit during a day and then in the evening or should we forget about a night visit? At this point we are thinking about booking both

I don't really know what it would be like at night, however, it cannot be missed during the day. The gardens are stunning and cannot be fully appreciated at night. Once you have gone during the day, I don't know if it's necessary to return again at night.

My wife and I went both on a gudied day tour and came back at night. The diffreence is astounding. while the daylight allows you to see much more than is visible at night. The evening is almost ghostlike with far fewre tourists.

The emptiness of the Alhambra and the serenity of the evening tour was unforgetable

Definitely do both!

Thank you for sharing your experience, David. We will buy tickets for both visits

I agree that the night visit of the Alhambra is a totally magical experience. Wandering alone through the maze of rooms and courtyards in the moonlight is something I will never forget. Get hold of a copy of Washington Irvine's Tales of the Alhambra and then pretend you've gone back in time to the days when it was only inhabited by gypsies...
