Visit Venice from London
We'll be in London May 12th and would like to visit Venice on the 13th - 16th of May. Can you recommend where to book airfare and hotels for this short stay?
Thanks! Julie |
There are a lot of companies flying from London to either Venice airport and the nearby Treviso airport - this is a good site for finding budget flights http://www.whichbudget.com/
Accommodation would depend on your budget. |
Julie - Try Ryanair or Easyjet:
www.ryanair.com (Stansted-Treviso) www.easyjet.com (Gatwick-Venice) Hope this helps ... Steve |
Your best bet is to book the flight and hotel separately.
You've left in quite late to get really good deals on the budget airlines but the website linked above is a good place to start. I flew into Treviso and didn't find it to be a probelm transferring to the city so don't limit your search to VCE (Marco Polo Airport). You may want to check out BA and BMI (and possible Lufthansa), all which run direct flights LON to VCE but which won't may not show up on the budget site above. If you come back and state what your budget is for hotel accommodation then you'll get some good replies from other people who know more about Venice than I do. |
Actually Ryanair to Treviso looks good for your dates if you book today. They currently have a 'sale' on May flights ...
It seems to come in around £55 if you're flexible with departure times ... Steve |
Thanks for the replies so far! Regarding hotels we would like something around $150 USD per night (less if possible).
Also, the less expensive flights are from Stansted-Treviso. What transportation would we need to get to the hotel and about how much would it cost? Thanks again! julie |
Julie - There is an Airport Shuttle bus serving Ryanair flights from Treviso airport to Venice (Piazzale Roma). For details see:
http://www.atvo.it/airport.php?a From Piazzale Roma you can get a vaporetto to your hotel ... wherever. Hope this helps ... Steve |
