We wish to visit San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome. This we understand is quite high up from colloseum in Rome. If we take a Taxi from Termini to visit San Pietro in Vincoli. How close the taxi will take us and will we have to still climb some stairs to reach.

How far is Forum gate from San Pietro in Vincoli . Can we walk that distance. How far is colloseum from Piazza Venezia.

I was there in March.

If you approach the church from Via Cavour, there is a very long climb - perhaps 50 steps. But if you approach from the east, the ascent is much longer but more gradual.

I was on foot, so I cannot confirm whether you can drive all the way to the piazza in front of the church. (Well, obviously some people can drive there - police, ambulances and so on....)

The gradual ascent I referred to is called the via delle Sette Sale

By the way, I did not find the church or the sculpture very interesting.
