Visit to Paris
In the past, we have used mostly VISA to pay for everything (food, travel, museums, etc)during our holidays. I hear Paris is more of a CASH society. Do you agree??
|
Hi B,
> I hear Paris is more of a CASH society. I fear that you have been misinformed. ((I)) |
no, whoever told you that doesn't know what they are talking about
|
No - Paris - as is true of almost all of the rest of europe - has joined the 21st century.
Most purchasing and banking is electronic - except for very small purchases. You'll need both charge cards and ATM card (to pull cash for walking around money). |
God, the things that people come up with...truly amazing!
Whoever told you this is clueless. Probably told you you should pay in dollars, too, right? |
My current information is that credit cards issued by Capital One are the only cards that do not charge a transaction fee abroad. I am in Paris twice a year and have always used other cards, but I just got a MasterCard from Capital One and so I may do a little better.

Thank you all ... we'll go equipped with plastic money and CASH for anything "small".
