Visa Related Questions
Hi,
I am planning to visit London in June and currently i hold an Indian passport. I also plan to visit Italy, Switzerland and Greece after London and will take the return flight to New Delhi from London at the end of the trip. I understand that i need to apply for Schengen visa for these three countries and UK visa for London. I have the following set of questions as this is the first time i am applying for Visa.
1.) Can i apply for UK and Schengen Visa at the same time (simultaneously) ?
2.) I will be applying for a tourist Visa, so will i have to attend any interview for either of these visas in the foreign embassies in New Delhi?
3.) If i have to attend interview at UK embassy, will mentioning about my trip to other European countries from London have an impact on getting the UK visa ? I really don't know much about the grounds on which Visa is rejected.
Any suggestion/advise would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward for your expertise.
Thank you

1) Don't see why not
2) Maybe, maybe not, you need to look at the application process
3) Whatever you are asked answer truthfully

The UK doesn't have an embassy in India, it's the High Commission and it doesn't deal with visas

1) The embassy will want to keep your passport while they process the visa, so technically you can't apply for two visas at the same time. But I think the UK lets you keep your passport for an extra fee, so you might want to look into that.
If you're travelling in June, though, you still have plenty of time to apply for a visa. Book your appointments as soon as you can. I would apply for the Schengen visa first so that you can prove to the UK embassy that you can legally enter your next destination after leaving London.
2) You need to hand the documents in person so you can have your photo and fingerprints taken.
3) No, this won't affect your chances of getting a UK visa.
The immigration officers want to make sure you won't overstay your visit. So as long as you have solid proof that you will be returning to your country, such as an employment letter, a family back home, or a property deed, you will be ok. Also make sure to have enough funds in your bank account, and make sure to apply to the country of your main destination.
Good luck
