Visa needed for Germany??

We are traveling to Germany in September. Is there a Visa needed to enter or leave the country?

wordsmith - where are you coming from?

if from the EC, no need at all. if from the US, you can enter for up to 90 days but once you have used up your 90 days, you have to leave the Schengen area for 90 days before you enter it again.

That depends on your nationality. If you are a citizen of the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, then no. If you are from elsewhere then you need to look at whether you need a Schengen visa or not.

What is your nationality/what passport do you hold? And, how long do you plan on staying?

(American tourists can stay for up to 90 days without a visa - after that, they must leave - not just Germany but all of Schengen - unless they have organized another type of visa - student or temporary resident.)
