Visa free period question

Hey,

I've got confused over something very simple, I'm looking at going to Bulgaria at the start of September (next month) and stay for 2 months. I'm a New Zealander so it the visa requirements are that I can spend 90 days in 6 months. I have visted bulgaria multiple times and what to make sure that I will be okay for staying 2 months with a visa.

These are the dates I stay and for how many days.

27.10.11- 07.11.11 -12 days
13.02.12- 07.03.12 -25 days
08.04.12- 16.04.12 -8 days
11.05.12- 28.05.12 -16 days

total - 61 days

Am I still okay to visit Bulgaria for 2 months without visa?

Thanks

The rule for New Zealanders is 90 days in 120. So you already have 61 days. If your next entry is within 120 days of your last exit date you can only stay 19 days. If your next entry is 120 days after you last left Bulgaria then you can stay for 90 days without a visa.

In your case you have just 19 days left of your 90 days, so no you can't stay 3 months.

29 days - sorry!

I see, but all these above visits were seperate, I didn't spend 61 days in Bulgaria in total,

One visit for 12 days in late October to early november 2011
One visit for 25 days in feb 13th to march 7th 2012
One 8 day visit in April 2012
and the last 16 days during May 2012.

So wouldn't some of the visits, those being last year one and early this year no longer apply?

And I'm sure it's six months

According to Wikipedia and every other source I have found.

Take the last day of your now planned visit.
Count back 180 days / 6 months.
Within that period you must not accumulate more than 90 days.
When in doubt, check with your BG embassy.

THis is a classic example of why this forum has to be used with great caution.

Delta have a continuously updated visa database whose accuracy is critical to Delta's profitability. The advice you're being given by two residents of Western Europe smacks of typical Continental insularity: Bulgaria, they're saying, must have the same visa laws as the counry thy live in.

Bulgaria is an independent country, with many laws - especially on immigration matterss - still independent of the bossyboots west of it. I'd trust the advice you're gettng from Delta over what you're being told by underinfornmed Western Europeans cultural imperialists.

I'd try, if possible, to confirm what Delta says with a Bulgarian embassy, though I appreciate that's not always possible. If you're reluctant to fork out for the massive phone bill asking an embassy might run up, go with the Delta database.

P.S. Sorry, you must do that math for your first day of travel.
If you go after sep 7 , only your last two trips will count .. 90-8-16= 66 days left
If you go on sep 1, also the respective 7 days from trip 2 ... 59 days left
When in doubt, get official info and confirmation from the embassy's visa department.
