Virtual Tour- See Rome from street level
I meant to post this link a long time ago, but it slipped my mind. PagineGialle has a website that has a fantastic drive-through of most areas of central Rome. 360 degree shots are taken about every 50 feet.
http://www.visual.paginegialle.it/on_the_road/roma On the left you'll see a map, on the right you'll see the photos. It takes a bit of getting used to, but you can click on the map to jump to a location, then use the right window to determine direction of movement. Also, you can put your mouse on the picture and pan up-down-left-right. We used this alot before our trip last year, it allowed us to know exactly where our hotel was, see what the outside looked like and things to look for while walking around. They have also done this for other cities in Italy. dave |

You can also do this for Paris. Here's the site: http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/pj.cgi?lang=en Click on photos on the right, then enter an address. You can then move about the neighborhood. I think they have a picture of every single building in Paris. Very cool.
