Which airline would be better to fly from Los Angeles to London? Honestly, the thing I am most concerned about is leg space, being 6'2". I don't care about the tooth brush and eye mask, I have those already.

Assuming economy, neither. Try Air New Zealand instead.

Also, all of those airlines offer premium economy, which provides way more legroom, for (usually) around a 25% premium.

If leg room is your main concern - Both VS and BA will be a huge disappointment. The service/amenities/food tend to be better on VS, but not that much difference.

If you must fly coach (and not premium economy) then just make sure you get an aisle seat.

We used Virgin which I generally like to fly to London last year and decided to use Premium Economy. What did we get: a little more leg room, the opportunity to board along with the "Upper Class" pax, a mimosa before take-off (please DO NOT try to take more than one) and the so-called "leg rests" ended up being a simple footrest attached to the seat ahead. Same food as Economy.

I did not think it was worth the price.

yesterday I made reservations for London again, but this time using British (and their fare sale). It would have cost well more than $1000 to upgrade two tickets to their Premier Economy. Since we are taking the "day flight" for a change I declined to upgrade and picked aisle seats.

BA and Virgin have 31" pitch in coach. On my last flight (January) a very tall man was in the seat next to me. After everyone boarded, he asked the flight attendant if there were any bulkhead seats. There was one so he moved. I've always wanted to be a few inches taller until I started flying.

Although I do prefer Virgin by a long way over BA, in your situation (being tall and your major concern being the leg room) then as posted above, there's nothing in it in Economy between these two airlines.
