Virgin Atlantic Refund
We were scheduled on a Virgin Atlantic Vacation from JFK to London on Monday (9/17). They offered us either a complete refund or a future booking. I took the refund. <BR> <BR>I also got complete refunds for 2 musicals I had booked separately. The British that I spoke to could not have been more understanding and sympathetic to our disaster.

Virgin was and has always been my favorite airline. You can bet I will book with them in future! Thanks for the post

We also purchase tickets for travel within Europe on Virgin Express and Buzz. Virgin Express offered us a full refund but Buzz refuses by reminding me that I bought a non-refundable ticket and would only refund the amount paid for taxes. So do you think I'll fly with Buzz in the future? I think not! Isn't Buzz supposed to be one of the larger airlines in Europe? I would think a small refund wouldn't bankrupt the company. <BR> <BR>Virgin on the other hand was very sympathetic to our plight and will most assuredly receive my business in the future. <BR> <BR>We also purchase theater tickets in London and was also given a full refund.

I thought you would like to see what Buzz had to say when I asked for a refund. Here is their response: <BR> <BR>Thank you for your query. <BR> <BR>Unfortunately, buzz is a non-refundable airline. If you want to cancel your <BR>booking we will refund the airport taxes and write a letter of confirmation <BR>that you/or the passenger did not travel. Then you will have to consult your <BR>travel insurers for a refund on the fare. <BR> <BR>If you want to change your booking you may do so. You need to contact us up <BR>to 1 hour before the original flight is to leave so we can change it. <BR> <BR>Regarding changes, you are requested to pay a 10GBP fee, which is charged <BR>per person per sector. You may also be liable to pay a fare difference. <BR> <BR>Please contact our department by phone if you want to make a change. <BR> <BR>Our number is +44 (0) 1279 660290. <BR> <BR>We hope to hear from you soon. <BR> <BR>Customer Relations <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>

Did you book this on your own over the internet? If so, you can expect this to happen.... <BR> <BR>Funny-but all airlines were trying to get everyone to book e tickets over the internet==and look what's happened now---you all NEED PAPER tickets..... <BR>Keep trying to do it yourself and then complain!!!

To "aaa" <BR> <BR>Yes, I did book on the internet on the Buzz web site. One good note, I contacted my credit card company who said they will file a dispute with Buzz and will more than likely get a refund for me!

Just for your information. Buzz is a lowcost carrier owned by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. I really find it incredulous that they will not offer a refund.

David, <BR> <BR>Yes, I heard that Buzz (KLM) is supposed to be one of the 5 largest European airlines. I sent in a second request for a refund and so far I am still waiting for a response.

Just wanted to give you an update of what is happening with trying to get a refund from Buzz.....NOTHING! Since writing a second request for a refund 4 days ago, Buzz has not sent me any response. <BR> <BR>Is there anyone else out there going through this same situation with Buzz?

We had tickets on Ryanair for the 12th. My daughter called them from Ireland to explain the circumstances. No way would they give us a refund. She said she thought under the circumstances they would. All they said was "these were non refundable seats. Won't use them again.

Although, it would be nice, I don't think that you will find many airlines that don't fly across the pond to offer refunds or credits (eg. Ryanair, buzz, Go). These specific airlines are inter-European airlines selling tickets at cut rates, with very strict policies, i.e. "no refunds".
