Vintage prints in Paris

Any suggestions for where to buy vintage prints in Paris? I'm looking for inexpensive yet interesting pieces I can mail home then frame. I would love to find vintage drawings, maps, advertisements, etc. I plan to check out the flea market, but thought I'd see if anyone knows of a storefront I can check out as well.

Thanks!
A

Lots of print shops along the Rue de Seine and in that area and there is a wonderful one behind St Suplice going toward Luxembourg Gardens. Sorry I can't remember the street, I just know how to find it!

Or posters perhaps - good for cliched decorating and who knows what they might be worth down the track - in the 70s I picked up a 1963 Van Dongen poster for 10 francs (still marked) which we have framed - very nice, but not one of the ones here unfortunately

A gazillion stands along the quais of the Seine, especially in the area of Ile de la Cité and Ile St-Louis.

Also check out rue du Cherche-Midi in the 6th -- lots of small and dusty old books shops.

Galerie Documents, 53 rue du Seine, is our favorite shop for vintage posters and prints. Mireille Romand is the owner. Mention Mr. Peterson and you may get a discount.

I have seen US dealers there who buy at quasi wholesale. Your price will be somewhat higher, but below retail.

The galerie will ship them for you.

I believe there is still one in a Passage, not sure which, perhaps Vivienne.

As another attorney mom, shortly after I passed the bar we went to Paris (a long time ago), and I bought a law-related print from one of the bouquinistes, the book and print stalls along the Seine. A very nice momento.
