Vincennes - 12th Arr
We'll be staying in Vincennes 4/2-4/9. We are looking for recommendations for places to eat in that area - cafes, low key restaurants, nothing fancy, etc. This is our first trip to Paris and we'll spend most of our time there just wandering around checking out the "must see's" that we read about here. Are there any "musts" in Vincenne? Thanks.

Parts of the chateau are undergoing restoration, but it is amazing just to walk around the courtyard and hopefully the chapel will be open ..it was closed for some special event when we were there 2 weeks ago. There is , in addition to the zoo, a huge garden..Parc Floral ...
Sorry it was so darn cold we didn't linger in the area to check out cafes, etc after finishing up the Chateau.

Vincennes is a very nice area , especially the houses around the wood , but lots of weirdoes and prostitutes as well!
Visit the Castle , go to the Floral park , avoid the Zoo , take the metro either at the "chateau de Vincennes"station or at "Saint Mandé Tourelles" station , and you'll be in Paris in 5 minutes!
check the www.ratp.fr website for the metro and RER lines!
Great market on Sunday mornings in Vincennes by the metro stop , and it's a 20minutes walk from there to the Montreuil Flea market , (beware of pickpockets) , knowing that it'll be rich and colourfull but Montreuil is not a great neighbourhood , no mobile phones on the street either!

We are considering visiting the Chateau de Vincennes, which offers two tours. One is 45 minutes, covering the history of the chateau and Sainte Chapelle, for 4.60 EUR. The other is 1 hour 15 minutes, covering the dungeon, Etude du Roi Charles V, and Sainte Chapelle, for 6.10 EUR. I understand the dungeon is closed.
Does anyone have any recommendations about the tours? Do you suggest taking one or both tours? Thanks.
