Villefranche swimming/water temperatrue in October
 

Hello all...my husband and I will be staying in Villefranche for a few days beginning October 9th. Does anyone know if the water will still be warm enough to swim in by that time?

The television news often likes to show Scandinavian tourists frolicking in the water of the Côte d'Azur out of season. Makes the locals snicker.

What water temperature do you desire?

Not sure...I suppose something that feels comfortable and is still warm.

We were on the Riviera in June and the water was cold to us then! Only the bravest swam.

Current conditions in Villefranche:

VILLEFRANCHE-SUR-MER. Ciel voilé 18°C. Mini: 18°C - Maxi: 21°C Température de l'eau : 23°C Indice UV :. Force du vent : 14 nœuds ...

If the water is 23° on September 11th, I think it might be a tad cooler a month from now.

Saving to show those of our travel group who say they plan to swim late next month in Villefranche...

I find the water on the Riviera freezing in July. I can't even imagine swimming there in October.

It depends on what you're used to. If you're used to water in FL it will probably feel cold. If you're used to water in Maine it will definitely feel warm.
