Villa Vignamaggio in Tuscany is booked...suggestions for something comparable?

Hello there,
Foolishly, we thought booking 8 months in advance would be enough! My wife and I hoped to stay in Villa Vignamaggio this summer as we enjoyed their beautiful pool and grounds last time....any suggestions for any comparable villas that could offer private patio space for guests, small kitchenettes, and beautiful grounds with a pool?
Much appreciated,
CC

Since you have already seen Chianti I would suggest going further south this time. Check out La Saracina and Sant Antonio in the Pienza area. Both have good reviews at slowtrav.com

See if Villa Catignano would meet your needs. It's near Siena. Here's a link:

I have a similar situation. I was planning on staying at Villa Vignamaggio this spring, but they are closed when we will be there. We have stayed there before and I was really looking forward to returning. I have not found anything comparable in that area. We really love the area along the chianti route. (S 222) I asked V. Vignamaggio for a recommendation for something comparable; this is what they recommended:
www.spaltenna.it/ I decided instead to stay at
http://www.villailpoggiale.it/strutt...1&leng=ENG as it is relatively close to Florence.
I also am staying in So. Tuscany. IMO you really need to stay in both so you don't spend a lot of time traveling; however we did drive from V. Vignamaggio to see the southern Tuscany villages.

Have you looked at Locanda dell Amorosa, closer to Pienza & Montepulciano? We stayed there in September one year and thought the rooms, grounds, and service were magnificent. Just another idea....

You might find something you like on the www.jpmoser.com site. It shows a lot of high end accommodations in Tuscany with pictures, prices, and descriptions, and I'm sure you could book with the places shown directly if you wanted to.

Hi everyone. Thanks for all the advice...just thought I would tell you what we decided! Well, we were still able to get Vignamaggio for 4 nights after all in July, but for the other 4 nights (as inspired by bobthenavigator who told us to explore another area of Tuscany!), we have booked at Relais San Bruno wwww.sanbrunorelais.com as it fit our criteria of having a pool, kitchen, private patio in their 'Snow White House' that is connected to their B and B. We found it in the online Karen Brown guide..and saw some great reviews on trip advisor. The relais is located just a stone's throw from Montepulciano...and we are excited about our stay there. Thanks everyone for all of your assistance!
cheers,
CC
