Villa Serbelloni - YUCK!!!
 

I just got back from a wonderful vacation in Italy. I was really looking forward to staying at the Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio, but I absolutely hated it! The staff was extremely rude (worse than any other hotel I've ever stayed in), the room was disgusting, and the air conditioning was a joke. I would never, ever go back to that hotel, and would encourage others to seriously think if they want to spend the money to be treated very badly. <BR> <BR>I loved my trip to Italy and the hotels every place else we went...especially the hotels in Florence and Milan. We were treated like royalty there. Forte dei Marmi was wonderful, also. I've been back for 1 day and am already planning to return next summer!

Let us all have a moment of silent prayer in hopes that the Villa Serbelloni is not associated with the good Dr. Abate or he with it!

CLAIRE, this is the 3rd time I have heard the same comments---especially about the rudeness. Why pay $300/nite <BR>for a bad experience when you can pay <BR>half that next door and get service. <BR>I booked only one client into Villa <BR>Serbelloni in 1997 but never again. <BR>They have such a fantastic location, it <BR>is a real shame to waste it. <BR>

Claire: <BR>Thanks for the non-minced words of warning. I find even tempered opinions like that in your post extremely useful. Especially since I'm planning a trip to Como in 2 months. I'd gotten an oddly negative "vibe" from my other readings without a clear cut warning.

Hmmmm. I thought my stay at Villa <BR>Serbelloni was terrific. Very helpful <BR>staff, beautiful room done in reserved <BR>elegance, absolutely clean, and of <BR>course, stunning view of the lake. <BR>I received first rate service even <BR>though I was dressed VERY casually. <BR>I'd go back in a minute.
