Villa Olmo Como
Good news from Como!
Sponsorship issues have been resolved and the 8th major exhibition is going ahead at Villa Olmo. This year the exhibition is dedicated to Giovanni Boldini and La Belle Epoque. This artist spent time in Florence, London and Paris where he was treated as a star. He was also highly regarded in America. Today many may not have heard of him but have undoubtedly seen his paintings reproduced on posters, biscuit/cookie tins etc. His is perhaps the most recognisable painting of Guiseppe Verdi - http://www.life.com/image/50696795 The exhibition starts on March 26. I will post further details when these are available but I expect that it will last until the end of July. |
That's nice news....

Looks like it finishes on the 24th of July http://bit.ly/id6ZHx

PS some somewhat hilarious translation in that last link
|
I will probably translate the main web site when fully available as they did not provide an English translation last year.
|
That's good...your translations are spot on. Could you not persuade them to pay you to translate for their site?
|
I think I will try for a couple of free tickets! By the way the weather in Como is glorious today and most of the kids and a number of adults are dressed up in carnival costume.
|
Aw..sounds lovely. Is that for Carnevale?
