Villa Adriatica (Dubrovnik) How do you book this hotel???

I want to book this hotel, and emailed the hotel, but they have not gotten back to me. I don't see this listed in booking.com, hotel.com or any other booking sites! For those who stayed here, how did you book a room? I've emailed them twice and have not heard back

Call them. From their website: +385 (0) 98 334-500.

I booked through the web-site, but agree with Andrew that you should call if you haven't heard back.

I trust you are aware that the Villa Adriatica is not a hotel? It has rooms, most of which are (I believe) en suite, with access to shared kitchen, living, and an awesome terrace area.

Good luck!

Make sure to check your spam folder - I have had emails from the villa end up there.

If you call, you want to talk to Silvija. She handles the reservations. Try to get one of the rooms with views on the terrace - the apartment and room #3 are really noisy as they have windows facing the Ploce gate and the street.

If Villa Adriatica does not work out I recommend getting an apartment through
http://www.dubrovnikapartmentsource.com/
The American couple who own the agency, Andrew and Michelle, were very helpful in the rental process. The apartment we rented would be too large for you so I do not have a specific apartment recommendation. But we stayed in the old town and enjoyed it very much.

Thanks everyone! I have checked my spam folder and have not heard from Adriatica! This probably sounds lame but my US phone does not allow me to make international calls. If I turn this on, there is a hefty charge. I usually book everything via email, so this is the first time no one has gotten back to me.
I would like a hotel/apt with a great view of the city wall, such as Adiatica. Are there other hotels similar?

kittycatangel Jun 19th, 2014 09:38 AM

I borrowed a friend's phone and gave Villa Adriatica a call.

A guy picked up the phone and said I should NOT call and asked that I email them instead for the reservation. I said I emailed them at least 3 times. He said to email again

Very frustrating!

kittycatangel Jun 19th, 2014 09:39 AM

I actually emailed them 8 times. I sent another email today.

There is no response in my SPAM folder

No reply means they have no rooms for the required dates. Sad that they did not have the courtesy to reply.Did you try Dubrovnik Apartment Source? Send them an email. Maybe they will give you some advice. They are very helpful. It is late for a July search.

We liked these apartments (a couple of links below) in Dubrovnik. My trip report link also has some photos of and from the apartment (Chapters Eleven to Thirteen cover Dubrovnik). We also stayed in Trogir and Plitvice and visited Split (photos are on Chapters Fourteen, Fifteen and Sixteen)

Clearly they don't want your business. Try someone wants it.

I have stayed with them twice. Normally they have replied straight away. I just wanted to defend the fact that they have always been wonderful with communications and a fantastic location.

rialtogrl Jun 19th, 2014 01:03 PM

I have also never had a problem - always an answer straight away. The family that owns it are very nice as is Silvija who does the bookings. Sending EIGHT emails with no response... I just wonder if it is getting blocked somehow? I don't think it is a question of not answering or "not wanting business."

Having said that, I bet they are busy times infinity at the moment, so if those eight emails were in one or two days or somesuch maybe it was just a matter of not having the time to respond.

There are a lot of rentals on Frana Supila which is the same street as Villa Adriatica, and many have views of the old town from there. The above link also has some places with views. Look around and you will find them.

Thanks everyone for your reply!

I don't think Adriatic is booked for the time. I finally found one site that shows their availability and the dates we want are available (acoording to FlipKey) I also sent several inquiry via FlipKey and no response yet.

I really want to stay at the Adriatica for the wonderful views, but I think I need to look for backup plan

this place is absolutely worth the effort. one of our favorites. we have found that when we don't get a response, we need to switch to a gmail address.... this one always goes through. (happened just last week when we were in italy... no response, then switched and got a response within the hour.)

I wanted to update everyone on this accommodation! After many many emails, Adriatic finally got back to every one of my emails all in one shot. My guess is they were out/busy for the 3-4 days I had emailed.

They had space available, and asked for a 50 Euro or $70 deposit. They only took international transfer or Western Union. I have traveled all over the world, and have never had to do this before.

I did some research so hopefully this can help others. An international transfer (in my bank) costs between $50-$75, but this depends on your bank! Western Union's online fee is $12, or $15 in person. I tried to do a transfer online but the WU online site was down. I had to go to a Western Union branch the next day. It turns out they were down too! It took me all weekend to send the deposit over

With them not getting back to me and making several visits to Western Union for a deposit, this is not the easiest place to book. I hope it is worth it!
